The Five W’s

Who: My husband, aka Mr. International
What: Travels
When: February 12-26, 2011
Where: Germany, Prague, Russia and back to Germany
Why: Business Trip

It’s always tough to say goodbye.

So, what happened while he was gone?
We started swimming lessons and took silly pictures in a photo booth at the mall.

Then we tried on princess accessories.

I sent this picture to Shawn and I’m certain that even though we were on separate continents, in separate time zones, we both stood speechless at the exact same moment and thought,
”She’s going to get married someday.”

But let’s not talk about that right now.

We had lot of lunches with my grandma, Hannah’s Gigi.

And we got lots and lots of snow.

So we ventured out to Pump It Up, where we bounced and played and wore ourselves out, while I tried to put the “she’s going to get married someday”
thought out of my head.

On about the 6th day, we had three timeouts.
Before 10 a.m.
No joke.
This was the first time in a long time
that we’ve had such a hefty discipline day.
But such is life with a three year old.
(And I love that after the second timeout, she said, “I’m sorry for not being patient with you.”)  Hehe.
Fortunately, parenting is about progress and not perfection so we pulled ourselves together and moved on.

Have I mentioned that I’m a nerd?  Well I am.  Case in point: I took a picture of us chatting via Skype.

We spent lots of time preparing for a big welcome home.
Here’s my little artist hard at work.  She selected all of the paper and stickers herself.

Welcome home, sweetie!  Your girls missed you!

  1. That is a long time to be across the world. Glad he returned home and all is well.

  2. Awwwwww ~ love this post! You two are such "Daddy's/Hunny's" girls!!
